1. Who you are contracting with
MTÜ Käitumisuuringute Keskus makes the software. When you buy a subscription, Creem is the merchant of record: they are the seller on your receipt, they take the payment, and they are responsible for charging and remitting any VAT or sales tax. Creem's own terms apply to that purchase alongside these. These terms cover your use of the software.
2. What the service is
CleanSample reads a survey export in your browser and reports, for each respondent, which data-quality rules that record matched and the evidence behind each match — the row number, the columns involved, and the numbers that crossed a threshold. It produces an annotated copy of your file, an exclusion-flow summary and a methods paragraph.
3. What it does not claim
The software reports what is in your data. It does not conclude anything about a person. It does not and cannot determine that a respondent was fraudulent, inattentive, a bot, or writing with a language model. A flag is an observation with its arithmetic attached, offered so that you can judge it.
Every exclusion decision is yours. You are responsible for the methods you apply, for what you report to your own clients or ethics committee, and for complying with the terms of any panel or platform you collected the data through. Do not use a flag from this tool as the sole basis for withholding payment from a respondent or accusing anyone of anything.
4. Your data
Survey files are read and analysed in your browser and are never uploaded to us. We neither receive nor store them, so we grant no rights over them and claim none. See the privacy page for exactly what does and does not leave your browser.
5. The free tier
The first 300 respondents of a file are screened at no cost, with every rule, all the evidence and the complete export. It is not a trial and has no time limit. We may change what the free tier includes for new users, but we will not quietly reduce it for someone who is already paying.
6. Subscription, renewal and cancellation
A subscription costs €9 per month and renews monthly until cancelled. Cancel at any time through the link in the receipt Creem emails you, or by writing to us and asking. When you cancel, the row limit returns at the end of the period you have already paid for; nothing is cut off mid-month.
Your licence is for you and the organisation you work for, to use on your own projects and your clients' projects. Do not resell it, share the key publicly, or build a service on top of it that re-sells the screening to others.
If we change the price, existing subscriptions keep their price for at least 90 days from the day we tell you, and you can cancel before it takes effect. See the refund policy for refunds.
7. Availability
The screener is a static site and runs without us being online, which is most of the point. The licence check needs our small server component to be reachable; if it is not, a licence already on your machine keeps working for seven days. We offer no uptime guarantee and no support response time beyond the one on the contact page.
8. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to break, overload or probe the site or the licence endpoint, and do not use the software where doing so would breach a law or a research-ethics obligation that applies to you. We can suspend a licence that is being used this way, and will say why.
9. Liability
The software is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, MTÜ Käitumisuuringute Keskus is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit, or for decisions you take about your own data — including which respondents to exclude and what to report about them. Where we are liable, that liability is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here affects the statutory rights of a consumer.
10. Changes to these terms
If these terms change materially, the date below changes and current subscribers are told by email before the change applies to them.
11. Governing law
Estonian law governs these terms, and the courts of Estonia have jurisdiction, except where consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live. Your purchase from Creem is governed by their terms.
